How Palmcard works
Before the call: a brief from your own material
You give Palmcard the things you would normally skim before a call: your notes, documents such as price lists and one-pagers, a CV or a job ad, and websites. If you connect a calendar (optional and read-only), it can pick the right meeting when you press Start and prepare a short brief for it.
Searching inside your documents runs on your own computer, and the brief is written by the AI service you select in the app.
During the call: it hears both sides and writes your next line
Palmcard listens to your microphone and to the sound the call plays, and keeps the two apart. When the other person stops talking, a private card on your screen shows what you could say next, in your own words. In our end-to-end tests that takes 0.5 to 1.1 seconds.
- Pricing and objection questions are answered from your documents.
- If it does not know, the card tells you to say so and come back, rather than inventing a figure.
- In another language, it shows what they said in your language and writes your line in theirs, with its meaning underneath. See live translation for calls.
It only listens when you turn it on, and you can pause it at any time.
After the call: summary, promises and follow-up
When the call ends, Palmcard writes a summary, lists the promises that were made, and drafts the follow-up email. On the Pro plan it also remembers earlier calls with the same person. Summaries and transcripts are stored on your computer unless you turn on keeping calls on your Palmcard account.
What it listens to
Palmcard works with anything that plays sound on your computer, including Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Slack huddles and phone calls taken through your laptop. It never joins as a bot, so nothing is added to the participant list.
| Your computer | How it hears the other person |
|---|---|
| Mac with macOS 14.2 or newer | Directly from the call audio, headphones included |
| Mac with macOS 12 or 13 | Through your microphone, so the call needs to play on the speakers |
| Windows 10 (version 2004) or 11, 64-bit | From the call audio |
Set up in three steps
- Download and install. Open the file you downloaded and drag Palmcard to Applications (Mac), or run the installer (Windows). Macs on macOS 12, such as 2017 models, have their own download.
- Allow access. Palmcard walks you through the microphone and call-audio permissions. It takes about a minute.
- Sign in and add your company. Approve the computer in your browser, paste your website, and you are ready for your next call.
Start with the free trial: 3 days and 10 minutes of real calls, no card needed. Downloads are on the download page.
What to expect and what to watch
- A suggestion is a prompt. You decide what to say and you are responsible for it.
- Some apps that use Apple's newest capture method can still capture windows that are excluded from sharing, so the safest habit is to share a single window or tab rather than your whole screen.
- Tell the other person the call is being transcribed. Palmcard reminds you at the start of every call. See is it legal to use AI on calls.
- Where your data goes is set out in security and privacy.
Questions people ask
Does it join the meeting like a note-taker bot?
No. Nothing joins your call. Palmcard runs on your computer and listens to your microphone and the call audio.
Which meeting apps does it work with?
Anything that plays sound on your computer: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Slack huddles and phone calls through your laptop.
How fast does the card appear?
In our end-to-end tests, 0.5 to 1.1 seconds after the other person stops talking. Other languages run slightly slower than English.
What happens when it does not know the answer?
It tells you to say so honestly, for example that you will check and come back today. It does not invent prices, features or results that are not in your documents.
Can I pause it?
Yes. Palmcard only listens when you turn it on, and you can pause it at any time.
Does it work on Windows?
Yes, on Windows 10 (version 2004) and 11, 64-bit, and on macOS 13 or newer, Apple Silicon and Intel. Older Macs on macOS 12 have their own download.
